Various II Walks Photograph Gallery
I set off straight from work at 4.30pm on a Friday. I'd prepared for bad traffic and packed car-snacks galore but the journey from Manchester city centre to Llanberis only took about 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Driving to Snowdonia in such good weather was fantastic. So good in fact, that I felt almost disappointed to arrive so quickly.
Deek is a fearless type. So, when I told him to pose for this trick photograph he duly obliged.
The apalling visibility that day made for perfect hoax conditions. But an hour or so later Deek was lost in the fog without maps or GPS.
We'd split up after we sent him down an easy short cut. Only it wasn't a short cut. It was a map-reading error.
Sorry, Deek.
I'd chosen this walk specifically for its almost unique lunar landscape.
The visibility made it so you had to more or less bump into something before you realised you'd found it.
Wonderful second day weather and great company made for a very special day.
This is one of the Rhinogs but with such bad visibility, I could've been absolutely anywhere.
A deceptive photo. Look for the little outlines of people at the top to get some scale.
One glorious afternoon.
It was hard to stop taking photos. The lengthening shadows and intense green were an amazing sight.
The pack weighed a ton but I didn't complain once. I complained many times.
I'd been looking out across the fells since the walk began but this spot really emphasised the sheer scale of the fells.
