This is Ian's brother, Damian 'Deek' Hunt near the end of his successful attempt to kick a piece of carrot across Manchester city centre on a busy Saturday afternoon.
The picture catches something of Damian's style and flair for the sport of carrot kicking (or maybe footcarrot?), but also something of Deek the person - nicely presented, a certain sporting prowess but not much up top.
This picture replaces a less spectacular landscape shot.
Modern slimline flatscreens may have finally discredited the idea but this TV theory has made a significant contribution to the Hawkinsian world view.
Be it the power of the state or life itself, much of what we take for granted isn't as solid as we'd like to think. It often hangs by a thread and is often in the hands of someone who'd rather be doing something else.
Believe it or not, this picture is The Hawkinsian Institute. For such prolific international output, you may have expected bright and airy offices down in Silicon Valley. Alas, no. Metaphorically speaking, this is the Hawkinsian equivalent of the little man with a flick book inside your TV."
Despite appearances, this Dunlop factory was operational until at least the early 1990s. Ian used to walk past it to college at the Gaythorne Annexe.
Although clearly derelict, there's something about the lettering that still looks stylish.
We can only guess at the age of this sign, but it's been about 150 years or so since Manchester became a city.
Ever noticed that the sky looks bigger on some days?
This picture is the first of a planned Big Sky collection. Impressively, this is the only pic in the collection so far.
Shopping always brings on a deep depression. To counter this, Hawkinsian still cameras accompanied Ian one day while shopping in Manchester.
These guys go way, way back together.
This night time shot was taken just outside the Peveril of the Peak pub.
These night time shots always need a fixed base. A wheelie bin did the job here, but despite the way it looks, Ian was not actually in the bin.
