Miscellaneous II Photograph Gallery

This was just around the corner from my hotel. It had a kind of timeless feel and reminded me of some of the scenes of early 20th century New York in films like The Godfather II.
Though, admittedly I don't remember seeing signs for cheap international calls and SIM cards in that particular film.
These baubles were actually beach-ball sized lights suspended above one of the Philip Starck designed lounges.
By far the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.
The first day's skiing and lucky enough to get perfect weather (but very bad boots).
It was about as high as you could get in Borovets and made for some of the best skiing in the resort.
The start of a long final day of skiing. Up at Yastrabetz.
Picture kindly taken by a nice fella called Steve Lloyd.
The Balkan Holidays planes waiting on the tarmac were the oldest I'd ever travelled on. They were the only planes I'd seen that had been repainted on the inside. There was a strong smell of kerosene prior to take off and I noticed that the Emergency Exit door handle was thick with frost during the flight.
Great band, great gig. Especially fun to see the bass player get a can chucked at his head just after he told us what a great crowd we were.
There was an incredible buzz about this gig. Apparently, tickets were being sold on ebay for £300.
It's always good to see a band on the crest of a wave, but this was something special. Thankfully, my buddy Carl Doherty only charged me the face value of £16 for his spare ticket.
Canals, push bikes and narrow houses.
And possibly the least flattering but this was taken on a walk to Chew Reservoir (the highest reservoir in England) near Dove Stone Reseroir.
It does give a feel of the horrible weather up there that day but this picture doesn't qualify to go into the new Walks section. That's reserved for proper walks.
That's where I'd climbed to to start this particular walk.
Within minutes of this last picture I was back in the car, in dry clothes, finishing my flask of coffee and enjoying some lovely bisuits my sister had bought for me in Edinburgh.
