My DDR T-Shirt is the first full length documentary to be made by Hawkinsian Productions. As a name, Hawkinsian Productions is a little misleading as it is essentially the film making activities of juts one person - Ian Hawkins. Originally, Hawkinsian Productions was just a sub-brand of another notional organisation, The Hawkinsian Institute.
My DDR T-Shirt couldn't have been possible without the generous help of lots of people. However, the project is entirely funded by Ian Hawkins and the film has received no external funding or financial support of any kind.
Ian lives in the Northwest of England and makes time to concentrate on film making whenever he can. However, limited time and resources can slow things down. For example, from start to finish, My DDR T-Shirt suffered al kinds of IT problems and took almost exactly three years to make.
